The fact they protest at dead soliders funerals is just plain sick.
I think they have more of a problem with homophobia as for some reason they think it is mentioned in the 10 commandents under "Thou shalt not commit adultery" therefore everyone who deosn't follow them are "fag" lovers and condemned to hell. I think that is their underlying problem, they just don't like guy people.
I guess heaven will be a loney place with just the 70+ of them there?

I do have to admit to smiling slightly at the family's indignant response to some passing car driver throwing a soft drink over one of the children. I mean there was this child flaunting a sign saying 'God loves 9/11', and they thought it bad form that someone threw something at him! I thought it was pretty bad form that they dared to make scenes at funerals - and if that was the funeral of one of my sons, I'd throw a lot worse than a soft drink! Mad, mad lot! What a bunch of angry nutters! Oh well, if they're the only ones going to heaven, I'll settle for hell, thanks!
no,it was not a wind up,when we were at my aunts in st louis last year, they were picketing a funeral,in st louis and it was on the local news, they are very weird and strange, but there are hundreds of small church groups in the states that have very strange believings and ways, but they seem to be one of the worst
I encountered the Westboro Baptist Church's website a few years ago when I was researching an essay I was writing on internet freedom of speech. Hate sites were of course one of the areas I researched and the WBC site was a particular jaw-dropper. It seems they are very adept at twisting and manipulating certain parts of the bible to suit their own preposterous views, yet conveniently ignore others.
Fred Phelps must start brainwashing members of his extended family (and nearly every WBC member either is a Phelps or is related to one) pretty early on to get them to follow so entusiastically what would seem to most people a thoroughly ridiculous and obnoxious doctrine.

Did anyone else notice that everytime they where asked a question they either ignored it or repeated the same statements over and over? It's like brainwashing. And all the children that grow up in families like that don't know any different, so of course they are going to believe eveything they hear is the truth.
Poor louis.
