E4 missing bits out!!
I noticed E4 cut scenes from Friends and Scrubs... do they do this with any other programmes and WHY?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.i cant be 100 percent on this put it could be either to fit in with the time slot...ie say friends is 21mins long and the time slot they have is half a hour but they have more than 9 mins of adverts to show they may cut bits of the show.
Or the more obvious reason is that a lot of the friends and scrubs dvd's i have are certified for age 12 and above, if there is something that is not suitable to be showen at a certain time of day then they have to cut it. I have noticed on E4 that they muted someone on friendfs saying p!55 because it was before the watershed.

C4 and E4 do this with loads of programmes - mainly American ones though! They air programmes like ER in daytime slots which they are clearly not intended for - and then many minutes get cut (or even whole episodes get skipped). The irony is that you can watch some of the 'schools' programmes in the morning and some of them have worse language!
I think they assume that most people will have seen them by now and won't be bothered to watch the repeats much. It probably costs them very little and fills up a few hours of their schedule every week. I must have nothing better to do, but part of the fun is spotting just how much they do cut out!
