The Lost Island

Can anyone recall a tv series years ago about some kids on a lost island, inhabited by a strange guy whose face was in a mask?

I'm sure it was called 'The Lost Island' but as I'm in my dotage now, maybe I'm wrong.

It's just that I've often wondered who the guy in the mask was?

I really do remember this, but it's vague. I can't seem to find it through Google, but used to watch it on Irish tv after Beachcombers...

I'm from Ireland and we used to get it there. Can't remember a darned thing about it, other than the guy whose face was in a mask.
