What do you think of This is your Life presented by Trevor MacDoughnut?

Why pick that self-opinionated Simon Cowell to be the first Red-Book recipient, this has made it a no,no from the very start for me.

i thought it was just a one off, and i agree who knows why they chose simone cowell. the seemed to have an attitude about it all.

I can't abide TM - if a listed building could talk, he is what it would sound like!

I know he's supposed to have gravitas and be 'trusted by the nation' but to me he's just an old black guy with a cut glass accent who reads an autocue ... badly.

I don't watch anything he is on - including the 'Tonight With ...' which is a misnomer, because he wheels on, tops and tails it, and someone else does the work, while it has his name on as some sort of guarentee of authenticity.

Bah!

Get rid of him.

Andy-hughs what a thoroughly wonderful description of TM, you are sooo right, especially about the Tonight With TM, cos actually its not WITH him at all!! (which in itself is a blessing) i cant be doing with him either, and i bet at weekends he wears Pringle sweaters, chino's and leather-upper moccasins, i bet he's gagging for an interview with that couple in Portugal when they do eventually get back here! xx

Sorry i have to disagree i thought it was quite good and very funny, but then again i like simon cowell, yeh he can be rude but thats just him. They could have chosen someone else to present it that had abit more humor but yeh it was a one off.

I saw the bit on American Idol when SC was (trying) to look as if he didnt know what was going on.............oh come on? who else would TM be there for? Give us some credit for not being total idiots, and i just think (as i said in another post relating to this prog) that This is Your Life was wasted on Simon Cowell as his ego is already inflated to the max, he doesnt care who likes or hates him, he loves himself enough for all of us!! i used to like him, but almost overnight i despise the jumped up, self obsessed to**er! Even his brothers and sister didnt seem that pleased to see him? And that gravel-voiced GF of his is and EX just waiting to happen!

i didnt actually watch it, but i thought it was supposed to be a surprise to the viewers and we only found out on the actual airing of the show.

I guess Simon Cowell is a "celebrity" who is famous but we don't know a lot about him. I can't say I will be watching.
It's a sign of the times that they trail who is going to be on the show, it was always the case that you tuned in to This Is Your Life to find out who was going to be surprised.

yes you are right it was the whole point, getting all excited (me no life) at the prospect of who might be coming on, and h the disappointment if it was some old fart who you'd never heard of, or someone who was about 16 who hadnt actually had a life yet! xx

I found it quite ironic to give the hosting of this show to a man who refused to appear on it when they tried!!!!!
