Who was the actress playing the mother of the boy missing for 11years?. She sounded familiar but could not place her face. Sounded very much like actress who played Ruth, the wife of Mark Fowler in EE who ran off with someone but if it is she has aged a lot.

It was indeed the former Ruth Fowler, a.k.a actress Caroline Paterson.

Thanks to you both. I do not remember "Ruth" as being old enough to have a 19year old son but I suppose it is quite some time since last seeing her in EE.
