She was pregnant and having an abortion the next day.

She ran off with the son of the neighbour who was holding the party - he's the father.

also she was only 15 and nobody knew that he was the father

Her granddad (George Cole) knew, because it was him who told the assembled parents near to the end. I get the impression her dad knew as well.
