ER - arson and the kid

Please help.....
how did the nurse find out it was her son ?

The nurse's angelic looking kid has been going off the rails and they are replaying the bit where he torches the flat and then latterly gets put in an institution

BUT - during the arson scene, an old fella is incinerated and before he dies he says something to the nurse which makes HER realise that the son is the arsonist

andmy question is...what did he say to her.

The series has been on twice,
and each time I was coughing or spitting in the ccorner or making a cup of tea and missed it.
