Didnt she used to touch the daisy to make a wish or am i getting mixed up with something else?
Question Author
i think thats probably the one - my mum says the daisy was magic
Bizzy Lizzy. She used to touch the flower on her dress to get a wish. Usually her first wish was for her eskimo doll, Little Mo, to come to life. She only had three wishes a day, when she had her fourth wish everything went back as to how it was before, eg Little Mo was a doll again.
Thahk goodness for that,i`ll sleep now.Ive been trying to remember it and its done my head in.I kept thinking of Lizzy Dripping.

many thanks spudqueen - my mum can sleep at night now!! :o)
Actually, Bizzy Lizzy had four wishes per day, if she wished a fifth time, then all the things she had wished for would disappear.
Usually her first wish was to make her Eskimo doll, Mo, come to life and "run about and play".
Bizzy Lizzy started life as cut-out animation inserts in Watch With Mother's Picture Book, before getting her own (marionette) series of 13 x 15minute episodes, also as part of Watch With Mother, in the late 1960's. The series was made in black and white, so didn't last long after the switch to colour transmissions.
Bizzy Lizzy lived just down the road from The Woodentops, as she and Mo visited Buttercup the cow in the last episode. The puppets of Teddy from Andy Pandy and a couple of Woodentops also appeared in Bizzy Lizzy playing other characters...

Hey - it was a long time ago tonymclark - and I didn't look it up - I remembered (albeit slightly wrong) all that I wrote!
This is a bizarre coincidence but I've been searching for a story that featured a little girl with a flower on her pocket that gave wishes. I have fond memories from childhood but can't remember the book - would it have been in an annual. Twinkle?
