i really liked it. The problem is i really like the books, and tat is sometimes difficult when someone else interprets the things you see in your head, but it was ok!
I wonder how long the episodes will be in the series?
Like you mata hati, I really enjoyed this, a change from the usual and am looking forward to the series.

I am with you bednobs, I don't usually enjoy tv series/films when I have already read the books. But this was for me successful as I only have read the first book and that was quite sometime ago and had forgotten the characters.
Not watched this yet ,but have read one of the books so hope its not changed to much. I read somewhere that there will be 13 episodes in the series

Yes I read that too - 13 x one hour long - Great!!
it was acually fimed in Kgale, Gaborone, where the production team have got a ten year lease on the land where they built the village for the series.

However, she poo-pooed this one on the grounds that it was set in Africa and therefore she couldn't identify with it (although she does have a racist tendency). What's the bett

Doh! Don't know how that happened. Mods, can you remove my first message and this one, please.

Cheers
I have not read the books, but have heard them on the radio. I much prefer the TV version.
It was pure magic from the beginning to the end, mata hati!

The music, the colour, the atmosphere, plus that delightful oldy worldy type of English. The actors were a joy, especially the secretary. Can't wait for the series!
I loved it .The music was wonderful .I love the books and just knew it was going be good .Im really looking forward to the series .Such a shame that Anthony Minghella passed away shortly before it was televised.
Just watched this and thought it was great. Just a shame there isn't more like it. Roll on next year
Its a long time since a programme has got all good reviews on AB! Heard the radio programmes and was looking forward to putting faces to names, and wasn't disappointed. Roll on the series.
