Did anyone else enjoy this play on last night ? We thought it was really good. The secretery was very funny. Makes a complete change from the usual "samey" things shown. Looking forward to the following series.
i really liked it. The problem is i really like the books, and tat is sometimes difficult when someone else interprets the things you see in your head, but it was ok!
I wonder how long the episodes will be in the series?
Like you mata hati, I really enjoyed this, a change from the usual and am looking forward to the series.
I am with you bednobs, I don't usually enjoy tv series/films when I have already read the books. But this was for me successful as I only have read the first book and that was quite sometime ago and had forgotten the characters.
Yes I read that too - 13 x one hour long - Great!!
it was acually fimed in Kgale, Gaborone, where the production team have got a ten year lease on the land where they built the village for the series.
I borrowed the book a while ago on behalf of my mum, who likes certain crime books but was looking for something different to read. However, she poo-pooed this one on the grounds that it was set in Africa and therefore she couldn't identify with it (although she does have a racist tendency). What's the bett

It was pure magic from the beginning to the end, mata hati!
The music, the colour, the atmosphere, plus that delightful oldy worldy type of English. The actors were a joy, especially the secretary. Can't wait for the series!
I loved it .The music was wonderful .I love the books and just knew it was going be good .Im really looking forward to the series .Such a shame that Anthony Minghella passed away shortly before it was televised.
Its a long time since a programme has got all good reviews on AB! Heard the radio programmes and was looking forward to putting faces to names, and wasn't disappointed. Roll on the series.
