don't know who i would put on his list, but yes, dexter the tv show is good, but the dexter books are even better

I've rapidly become a big fan of the show too. I think Michael C Hall is brilliant in the title role, getting the mixture of humour, pathos and creepiness just right.

Have just watched yesterday's episode (it's on after my bed time). OMG, OMG! My other half said the doctor was dodgy a few episodes ago! Ohhhhh, is he going to kill Dex's sister! I bet it'll end on a cliff hanger ready for the next series.

Wonderful - love it!

As far as I know, there are three Dexter novels - I have managed to obtain the third and first - in that order - and really enjoyed them.

As Richard pointed out, the books are able to convey more of the subtlety and dark humour than can be done by the TV show - excellent though it is.

Just one niggle - in the opening credits, Dexter is shaving, and cuts himself, but when he finished breakfast, and leaves his apartment, he is unshaven.

I have often felt like giving up in the middle of a shave, but obviously i finish becuase to stop would make me look rerally weird - but not as though I hadn't started, as Dexter does.

Any theories - is there a hidden message here?
