Would you live in Midsomer?
I know Midsomer Murders is only fictional, but honestly, if you lived in a village like that, wouldn't you be terrified?
It's strange that in such a small village, there is a murder every week. I'm starting to wonder if Chief Inspector Barnaby is the real perpetrator of these crimes.

Yes its funny how Dick Van Dyke always happens to be in the area when there is a murder.
And he (and his colleagues) seem to be allowed as much time off work as they want to help catch the killer.

Don't forget small villages have secrets and secrets when out always cause problems, so that's why there are so many murders. Everybody is related to everybody else unless, of course, you're a NEWCOMER! Then watch out! Lots of petty squabbling too, over who wins the biggest turnip award etc..

and speaking of Jessica Fletcher... what about all those look-alikes she has. Cousins, ancestors, sisters?
Southern sleuths, Cockney sleuths, olde England and they all look exactly like Jessica.

Ah yes, but John nettles has form for this kind of thing. consider "Bergerac." A tiny island, 9 x 5 miles in area and yet a hotbed of murder, larceny, corruption and violence for years! The Jersey police force (Bergerac plus two other blokes) must have had resources comparable to the NYPD to successfully investigate the constant waves of high level crime going on there.
In "Midsomer Murders" it's funny how DC Troy can never satisfactorily explain his whereabouts whenever the local Bowls Club chairman is found with a pitchfork through his face, isn't it?
