Hanging was banned in the 60s, actually, but that's beside the point really. Okay, so they cancelled Bargain Hunt for the tennis - it's only for 2 weeks of the year for goodness sake - and take my word for it, I'm not avid tennis fan, I just think that for those who are they should get full coverage for 14 days.
For that matter all BBC afternoon programmes have been cancelled for the time being, for Wimbledon and Ascot and no doubt for the Olympics when they arrive in August. But on the bottom line it's only television, and the regular programmes will all be there again when the sport is all over.
I don't happen to like Bargain Hunt, but I enjoy the re-runs of Diagnosis Murder, et al, but I'm afraid in the real world Wimbledon is more important. That's life!
