In Emmerdale this week, Belle Dingle made a giant elastic band ball, for the village carnival.

How exactly is an elastic band ball made? Is it started by putting the bands around a cricket or tennis ball and then building it up?

When the ball gets really huge, how can additional bands be added without them snapping?

The first elastic band is rolled up tightly then other bands can be put round it until it takes shape. When the ball gets big, bigger elastic bands are needed to fit round it.
takes me back to my childhood when kids spent days making the biggest lackie band ball
As it gets bigger I suppose the bands are broken and tied together?

btw...I think Belle Dingle is a great character.
