I totally agree with everything you all say (apart from Oh No NoKnow who didn't even watch it) .. about the ugly Kevin Whatley, about the gate being locked at the end.. where can I write to ITV? Perhaps we should all get a petition together to say we are never going to watch an ITV Three Parter again. I think I will write to Jaci Stephens of the Mail. Well I went into ITV.com, eventually found 'feedback' and sent them an e-mail telling them I thought it was utter rubbish!

And the trouble was the child had been murdered; ergo one supposes one was invited to feel sorrow at a life cut short so tragically? However the child was so horrible that I couldn't help deciding she got what she deserved and good-oh to whoever clocked her one!

I never even noticed the gate, you know, probably because I was so angry, but that makes the ending even more absurd. So Daddy's girl friend did what? Bolted the gate from the inside and then climbed over it clutching the baby? OH COME ON!!!!!

Very disappointing, I don't often watch a whole series due to work commitments, but I made a point of seeing this. Must say although I am certainly no prude I felt the sex scene was unnecessary, we all knew he was shagging the secretary or whatever she was. I also felt sorry for the kid who was murdered, although she was a little ****, I am surprised they had her say lines about 'the sex thing'. How old was the actress, seven or eight if that?

Actually Lankeela I think the actress looked like a rather small 10/11 year old. The sex scene I agree was totally unnecessary and Kevin Whately, yuk!!

Mr LL did the sensible thing and went to sleep whilst it was on!

Totally agree with you all. What utter rubbish and I'm SO annoyed!! Especially as my OH only agreed to watch 'some soppy family drama' with me 'cos I told him it was a murder case! Had to put up with very meaningful 'looks' after.

Even the family drama bit was rubbish, and to be honest seeing Whately doing all that snogging fair turned my stomach, and thats before the unnecessary sex scene.
Only one I remotely had any sympathy for whatsoever was the son Jack.

Absolutley ridiculous waste of my time. Sorry i know I'm repeating what others have said but needed to vent.

Like everyone else I cannot work it out.the only conclusion i have reached is that all of them had obvious reasons for doing it . I suppose.She wrecked all their lives & why .Perhaps another series will continue from where this ended.
i did like jack though.i felt sorrry for him and wondered how many other children go through the same as him..not knowing where he belongs.very sad.

It was definitely the girl's stepmum (or dad's girlfriend, whatever she was!) but I thought this was stupid as she was the least likely one to have done it!
