What was the original 'University Challenge' music? I've looked on the Internet, but everyone seems to think it was a different version of the current music...it wasn't!
I vaguely remember it being a tune by Duke Ellington.
The present tune was originally played by a jazz band.

Thanks. 'College Boy' is the current music.
original music was an arrangement of 'Scatterbrain,' as in 'Isn't it a pity that you're such a scatterbrain.' Don't know who worte it or sang it.

I've had a good browse and found one version of the tune that sounds slightly familiar, but I'm stiil not sure that it's the one I was thinking of.
