The Street
Is anyone watching this fantastic latest series. I missed the first one, however last night's and last week's were brilliant - touching, gritty realism, great acting, superb script.
Last night's about the alcoholic discovering he was the father of a 16 year old Downs Syndrome boy was riveting television. Mind you, written by Jimmy McGovern, it's going to be.

The way the father went from horror & rejection of Otto to pride and love was so touching...and very realistic. It was touching for me to see the scene where the lad walked into his house and you could see he just wanted to put his arm round his shoulder, but just couldn't quite make it. And the smiles at the end when he had gone to AA and was allowed to see his son again. Quite heartwrenching.
Brilliant programme all round methinks.
