I have bought a small T.V. but the sound is really tinny ,so I thought I would buy a small pair of speakers for it . The only one's I can find all have to have batteries . So can I buy a pair of speakers that will plug into the headphone socket on the T.V. and does'nt need the batteries. ?. thanks.

You CAN plu a set of speakers into the headphone socket that don't need batteries,but what will you get?,jus the same tinny sounds but directly in your ears!
As genital says they need a boost from either batteries or mains to give you (somewhat better) sound,although (in my humble opinion) you will never get very good sounds from such a small TV.

Maplins sell mains portable speakers , google Maplins.com and then Mains Portable Speakers to take your choice
