open all hours?
Open All Hours was set in a corner shop, rather than a gocery store. There was, however, a comedy series in the early 80's called Tripper's Day, starring Leonard Rossiter ( Rigsby,of Rising Damp fame), as a supermarket manager. It got bad reviews and was short-lived as Rossiter died half-way through fiming the second series. It was revived 2 years later as Slinger's Day, starring Bruce Forsyth, but sank without trace.
