Sony Bravia Freeview HD Television
2 Answers
Hi
Can anyone please help?
I have just purchased a Sony Bravia Freeview HD Television. I have checked that the Freeview is available in my area and it is.
I have a HDD PVR attatched to it via a scart lead. So the television is controlled by the remote for the Humax PVR. My problem is; How can I watch a live broadcast being transmitted in HD as the ariel lead is in the PVR and it does not show the HD in the "on screen guide" Would I need to put the ariel back in to the wall socket and bypass the PVR. I know if I record a HD programme it would only play back in SD. As you will gather I am not that technical in this department.
Thanks for your help.

1st, it's unlikely that the freeview tuner in the TV is a HD tuner, it's probably only SD.
2nd the Humax will have a RF out on it, plug another coax lead from that to the aerial socket on the TV so you can use the freeview tuner in the TV
3rd SCART is a SD only connection, you need to use HDMI to connect the PVR to the TV for best results.
