As the new season of tv soaps acting awards will be with us soon, can I take this chance to nominate Charlie Brooks for her great performances as Janine in EE and the actress who plays Mrs Ken Barlow for the worst acting by any actress in a soap. That `howling` in the last episode will take some beating.

Mrs Ken Barlow has been like that for as long as I can remember. Anyone else still got any Deirdre bug-eyed specs? - I have.... LOL - but they are only my desperate spares..... has she still got a scraggy neck when she's upset?

ANY acting in Corrie (with the exception of Tracy Barlow and David Platt) beats any performance in eastenders - in that all you gotta do is look miserable and shout.

Both Charlie and Lacey deserve awards. They are two extremely talented actresses. I know Lacey's about to be in 'Being Human', and I would love to see Charlie in one of those lavish period dramas playing a lady with attitude, although not necessarily a bitch.

Deidre's veins are so taut in her neck that I fully expect to see her eyes forced out of her head by the strain and roll towards camera.

She certainly was of oscar standard when she persuaded M & S to open up especially for her on a desperate new years eve shopping trip

I think Phil Mitchell plays a drunk really well...
