Hi Jillius,
I'm not a Corrie fan so I don't know who you mean. However, there are a lot of folk who have disappeared over the years and I thought I'd set up a Q and A post to bring back memories of Eastenders, Emmerdale, Corrie, Hollyoaks, etc..and even reaching into the depths of not so well know programmes.

sandyroe, I don't understand why you think different actors taking over established roles to be strange.
The actor is playing a part. If there is still a strong storyline for that character, it makes sense to replace the actor when the original actor wants to or has to leave.

How many people have played Marple or Poirrot, for instance?

Always wondered where Linda Sykes went to, she was married to Mike Baldwin in Corrie and as far as I know there was never an explanation as to her disappearance.

Linda ran away to Ireland. Mike was suspected of murdering her, but it came out she was found safe and well in Ireland.

Linda Sykes, (Jacqueline Chadwick), disappeared. Mike Baldwin, her new husband and sparring partner, was suspected of doing away with her but it turned out she went to Ireland.

Lucus (the preacher) from Eastenders played a role years and years ago as a homosexual. Now, he is a crooked preacher. I last recall him being in a jail cell and it appeared as if the story line was going to carry on but didn't.

My original question 'people who've disappeared' is rather tough as so much happens in soaps and so much forgotten by story lines changing constantly.

How about Bouncer (the dog), and Joe Mangle ?
