Many years ago, in the 80s or 90s I watched a TV program about Domenico Scarlatti; a sort of biography, interspersed with a lot of his harpsichord music. Does anyone know if this is still available, perhaps as a DVD?

1985 was the 300th anniversary of the birth of Domenico Scarlatti. In March of that year an episode of "The South Bank Show" saw Melvyn Bragg interviewing keyboardist George Malcolm about the elusive musician with demonstrations of the innovative techniques pioneered by Scarlatti.
One of my old friends was the lighting cameraman for that production.
He worked for the BBC, so it must have been one of theirs.
I remember watching it.
"The South Bank Show" was an LWT production. The show was named to reflect the location of the LWT studios on the South Bank next to the Royal National Theatre.
The BBC's anniversary programme broadcast in April 1985 was titled "Domenico Scarlatti: His Music and His World, 1685-1757"
Gosh, that name takes me back to my student days when I had to play his pieces on the piano. Very complicated if I remember rightly.
