Dancing on ice - don't let the public vote
7 Answers
Why is it when the public get a chance to vote on these kind of programs they always treat it as a popularity contest? The idea is to come up with the best skater. The same thing happens with strictly come dancing. It becomes a farce. The general public really are thick sometimes. Just because someone was a soldier or is popular on Loose Women, doesnt make them a good skater!

it isnt very fair I think maybe the percentage of votes cast by the public shouldnt have such a large impact on the final vote. However having said this I was very shocked when Vanilla ice went, my mum loves him!
It does get unfair when good skaters leave because rubbish skaters are popular!

I do agree 100% with what you are saying the public do tend to vote for contestants who don't deserve to win. However, it is just a television program and no importance should be attached to it. Huge amounts of revenue is collected from the phone calls made to these competitions. Have you ever considered it may be all fixed to make the program more controversial thus generating more interest and ultimately more cash in the coffers.
