Cars

Cars is a story that will rev you up. The film is a totally original story from Disney Pixar and is set in a world of anthropomorphic vehicles. The voice cast is top quality and includes Owen Wilson, Paul Newman, Bonnie Hunt and Michael Keaton; also there are voice cameos from big names such as Jeremy Clarkson and Jay Leno.

The film was generally well received at the box office; audiences initially found the idea of animated cars a little tricky to believe but then watched the film and fell in love with it. Some thought the story was a little dated and perhaps that is so but its simplicity compliments the intricate visual detail, plus there is plenty of humour and satire to bulk out the plot.

Related merchandise, including scale models of several of the cars, broke records for retail sales of merchandise based on a Disney Pixar film.

Lighting McQueen is a rookie racing car set to win the Piston Cup when he gets lost on route and is caught speeding in a little desert town Radiator Springs. As penance he is required to stay in the town for a week and do community service. During this time he learns his lessons, meets a beautiful Porsche and gets ready for the final big race.
