Going to the cinema is a great way to spend and afternoon for many families, couples and friends, but it can sometimes be difficult to get hold of the tickets you want unless you pre-book seats online, especially on busy weekends and new releases.

Fortunately most UK cinemas have an online booking system that allows you to reserve seats up to a week in advance, meaning that you’ll never miss out on the hottest seats again.

The process of booking cinema tickets online is very simple. In most cases you will be presented with an image of the cinema seating plan on which you can highlight the seats you would like to book. Prices will obviously differ depending on what time you’re going and where you want to sit (usually defined by either premium or standard seating), and a breakdown of the overall cost will appear before you continue on to the payment screen.

Payment is also very quick and easy. Simply put in the information from your debit or credit card into the required fields on the checkout screen and you’re done. Tickets can be picked up at the kiosk in the cinema, and some establishments use machines that require you to insert the card on which you bought the tickets and they will be printed upon confirmation of your details. This process is quick, safe and will allow you to avoid long queues (perfect if you’re running late and the movie is just about to start!).
