Harry Potter

Harry Potter is now one of the most well known characters in literary history. The series of seven books by JK Rowling have consistently set fastest selling records and have now also been turned into films. Harry Potter is ably played by Daniel Radcliffe and is supported by Ron (Rupert Grint) and Hermione (Emma Watson).

Each book (and film) is based on one school year for Harry and his friends so by the end of the series they are only just adults at 17 and 18, this has caused some debate among audiences as often the books deal with very grown up subject matter such as death and how evil people and society can be.

Despite this all the books and films have been very well received and are truly stunning in their execution. The films are very true to the books but unfortunately as is usual the films cannot have everything the books do. However, the films do work well by themselves and reading the books is not required.

The series is about the life of Harry Potter who is a wizard but has been brought up by his non-magic aunt and uncle until the age of eleven when he is invited to join Hogwarts the school of wizardry. He befriends two students Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger and all are involved in increasingly dark and dangerous adventures.
