The Lord Of The Rings The Fellowship Of The Ring
The Lord of the Rings The Fellowship of the Ring is a fantasy adventure film. The first in the series based on the book By J.R.R Tolkien of the same name the film was directed by Peter Jackson. The film introduces the Hobbits to the world and particularly Bilbo and Frodo who starts out on the adventure of a life time.
As with many book adaptations there were some dissenters who found the film did not live up to their expectations of the book. However, these were in the vast minority and most audiences were delighted with the result Peter Jackson put together. In particular his interpretation of the non-human characters was spot on, as well as the landscape of Middle Earth. The human characters including Hobbits and Elves were also very well portrayed and clever camera work allowed the Hobbits to genuinely have to correct proportions while being smaller than the other cast.
The film starts with Bilbo hosting a huge leaving party and giving the One Ring to Frodo. Gandalf then talks to Frodo and tells him he thinks the ring is much more important than it seems. Frodo decides to set out to see Bilbo at Rivendell and takes his friends Samwise, Merry and Pippin with him. Once there the Hobbits learn just how dangerous the ring is and what needs to be done. The fellowship is the group who will accompany Frodo on his mission they are Boromir, Legolas, Gimli, Gandalf, Aragorn, Sam, Merry and Pippin.
