VW Passat TDI SE 1.8 Diesel - clicking noise from engine compartment - HELP

Very annoying clicking noise comes from engine compartment and with a little bit of vibrant that can be felt on gear lever when engine is running on neutral. This goes away when clause pedal is pressed and comes back on when the clasue is released. Did anyone have similar problems that you would like to share please?

That's not a good enough description to diagnose problem.
Get someone to operate clutch when hot and have a listen around.
If a cambelt model, be VERY sure it's not that ticking, as that can indicate a cut belt!
