House paint specs on car

After returning from holiday I found that my neighbours landlord had arranged for the outside of their property to be painted and tiny specs of paint were all over my car. On the glass it’s easy to remove, the paint a bit less easy (machine polish) but the real issue is the rubber areas where it is hard to remove. I contacted the landlord’s agent and after he viewed the car and agreed that it needed to be fixed they finally offered me £50 cash and a written apology . The £50 was based on quotes that the agent found on line for a valet, he also mentioned that this was generous….
I got a quote from a body shop who felt that all the affected rubber would need replacing and the total cost would be around £1200…
What should I do? Ideally I want the least hassle and I cannot afford to be without the vehicle for even 1 day since I am self employed and it is essential.

Why am I not surprised that a body-shop says that the "rubber" needs to be replaced? Apart from the tyres, is there that much rubber on a modern car?. A lot of the "rubber" is surely plastics-based material. I would ask some of these mobile valeters their opinion- with the appropriate cleaner and the correct solvent-base I think the paint could be removed.

Very difficult. It happened to my sons car. In the end the decorators agreed to bare the cost by a specialist cleaner, where it spent a couple of days. It wasn't cheap. No way could a normal car valet get it off.

The landlord needs to speak to the people that did the job - they should have insurance to cover such things.

This happend to a friends car that I keep tidy & valet, the paint was water based & removal was done with HOT WATER & a lot of elbow grease, the cost was £150 do not except anything less, get the land Lords agent to get the job done! but you need to check who is doing the job. do not back down Josadler.

Clean the rubbers with either tar remover .. or thinners (depending on what paint it was) I assume exterior masonry paint .. which is like a vinyl amulsion.
Replacing rubbers is well over the top and excessive, I would have thought.
