I don't care what others think. I have had dodgy Korean marques but the cost of spares was horrendous, never again for that very reason. They may be cheap to buy but mighty expensive to keep going. And I'm talking about the stuff you have to replace on any vehicle, be it a Ford or Ferrari. Brakes, exhausts, rubber hoses. If it is Korean these will cost you dear.
Still thinking of buying a Kia, Hyundai or Chevrolet? Thought not.
I've test driven a number of skodas across the range and found them to be just as good, if not better, that the VWs we have on fleet. I would buy one if didn't have the company car
Well start saving mdoo98. You'll need that rainy day fund if your driveway has anything Korean on it. Give me a eurobox any day.
Hose that goes from air filter to fuel injection unit. Daewoo Lanos £87.00, Vauxhall Astra £23.99
skoda are on of the options on the co car list and i've lost count of the amount of times people have test friven them, loved it but went for something else because of the name
we have just bought a beautiful Octavia Estate - sports alloys and suspension, satnav, black metallic paint Injection engine. Cost on the road with 1 years tax, 3 years warranty and recovery service - under 12.5k - I think the Octavia came 3rd in the drivers reviews with Skoda being top manufacturer and haveing 3 cars in the top 4. We had a Roomster before which was a very practicle carand we had no probs with it over the 3 years we had it.
Hopkirk, you actually grow to embrace the fact that you have a Skoda - Our neighbours have all got their Mercs, BMWs, Audis etc - so we love the fact that we upset their little game with having a Skoda parked in front. When we got the new one a few weeks ago my neighbour was looking at it appreciably until he realised it was another Skoda then just looked confused about what he should actually feel. I love it!!!! At the end of the day we have a better car for half the cost so who is the daft one? There is a 9 month waiting list for a Yeti since Clarkson gave it such a good review - there will be a whole new generation of Skoda owners soon.....and once you've bought one, you'll just keep buying them.
Just think about it:
Brand new Octavia Estate
1.6l mpi engine
Black Magic metallic finish
17 inch alloys

sat nav linked to multi function computer
air con
electric windows and door mirrors
touch screen entertainment system

3 year warranty & VW roadside assistance
