Vauxhall Astra 'R' reg mot fail,any advice?????
hi my astra has just failed an mot test,its on a R plate,1.6 gls 16v,genuine 58k on the clock,body work is mint for saying its an old car,it failed on mainly brakes,
needs new front discs,n pads,suspension arm rubber bushes deteriorated,resulting in excessive movement,front lower suspension arm locating pin locking device missing,track rod end ball joint excessive play,all brake hose ferrule's excessively corroded,offside front brake pipe excessively corroded,these were the fails,and advisorys,nsf brake pipe slightly corroded,centre(both) brake pipes slightly corroded,2chips on windscreen has damage to an area less than 10mm circle within zone A ???,nsf macpherson strut corroded but not seriousley weakened,cat front flange and front t pipe very badly corroded,exhaust slightly deteriorated,oh and possibly a new tyre needed........ been quoted 440 plus vat just for the work that it failed on.
scrap or keep????,any advice welcome,im no mechanic..
