Isn't it easier to get a reconditioned or repaired gearbox Jovi? The cost won't be too much (unless you already have the replacement engine and gearbox) but I'm just wondering about the insurance increase as a 'modification' even if the engine does fit. Why not just fit the replacement gearbox to the existing engine? I'm sure that will fit with no problems.
I am sure the box on the 1400 will be different.
However, I am pretty sure the 1200 engine and box will fit so long as you use it's mounts.
What you WILL have a problem with .. which others may not realise .. is the wiring loom .. the ECU may well have very different wiring and engine to ECU loom. You really would be better finding the correct replacement engine.

Hi Albags there seams to be a lot more 1200cc gearboxes so thought that an engine & box would be easier to find
