In my 2003 Rover 45 i have a Blaupunkt (original fitted) radio/sinlge CD player which has a removable front panel.

When I remove this there seems no way of removing the radio from the dashboard ie no holes or scres visable!

If I want to replace it with a new radio/player will this be difficult bearing in mind that volume/channel changer is aldo operated from steering wheel.

Or must I pay an expert to do it?

Thanks

If you look at each side of the unit at an angl,LH side from the right and vice versa, you should see two half hidden holes on each side going at an angle away from the centre of the unit, standard removal tools will do the job.
If there's still nothing visible there may be a trim or trims you have to remove to access the holes.

When it's removed you may find that the car has a BMW wiring loom for which adaptors are available. You'll most likely need an antenna adaptor too. If you need both then about £15 should cover it.
Steering wheel control adaptor will take the place of the BMW loom adaptor (if reqd) but will need a brand specific patch lead. Please bear in mind that not all brands are compatible with OE wheel controls and in many cases functionality is limited.
Good luck. :)
Yes .. Mini radio removal pin holes .. either exposed .. or under snap-off trims.

Remove the plugs from each side.
^ Indeed AlBags.

The radio shown with the small snap in panels usually needs a long thin Allen key to release the unit from the cage.
Yes .. I did see one before. Why they have to depart from common fixing method's beyond me!
For the odd ones with hidden holes ..
Lift the flaps each side IF holes not visible .. and I 'think' you will need a 3mm allen key.
I don't think you can expect the steering satellite controls to function if you fit an after-market unit.
Most new Kenwood, Pioneer and JVC may work via an interface from Autoleads, Connects2 or similar but it's hardly worth the expense for the result achieved.

Thanks Douglas and everyone for all these replies. I had a quick look and it is indeed allen keys! Also, you are all correct if I fit another the steering wheel controls will not work!
So I am forgetting the whole idea and leaving well alone!!

Thanks again
Oh well, if your plans change again at least you'll know where to start.
