Renault Scenic keyfob/transponder £190 from Dealer!! Help Please.
3 Answers
I have a Renault Megane Scenic 2003 Phase 2 which I bought recently with only one key fob/transponder. I need a spare in case I loose the key (it is NOT a card)opied, but nearly £200 is out of my range.
On my car there is only one actual place to manually use the car key and that is on the passenger door. This works ok presumably if my battery was to fail in the fob - but would it start the engine?
Can I just have my key copied or will that only give me entry to the car.
Have tried various people online who cut keys but they say it is 'discontinued' what do they mean and what options do I have. Don't mind paying £80, but not nearly £200!!
Please can anyone explain. Thank you.

It's easy to change the battery in the fob if necessary. If you have the owners handbook it tells you how to do it in there.
I'm surprised you can't find a local outlet that can't make you a new key fob/transponder for half the cost of Renault.
