Car Cd Multichanger

Hi
my daughter has a Ford Fiesta which has a single CD player (Ford's own brand) in the car. She wants to add a multichanger in the boot. Can she get any mutli CD player or does it have to match the one already in the car. If it has to match any ideas where the best palce to get one might be?

There are various ways of doing it Nigel. If the main unit is changer ready the one will be available from Ford. You should check to see if the car is pre-wired for a changer and also be prepared for a highwayman's price.
There are interfaces available to connect aftermarket changers to factory units which work with varying degrees of success and finally, an FM modulator kit in which the changer output is replayed via a dedicated radio station.
Personally, I'd whip out the Ford unit and fit a good aftermarket CD/MP3 player and your daughter can have as much music as she likes on three or four discs.

Ford do a 6 disc radio/cd unit as fitted to a lot of their cars. if its a 98 Fiesta onwards it should fit.

Hi thanks for the replies. Unfortunately the CD autochanger seems to have almost disappeared. Do you know if Ford still supply one or where I can get a good second hand one?

If you have a local independent car audio specialist they might just have one they can blow the dust off but as you've already seen for yourself the technology's moved on.

Wouldn't it work out cheaper and easier to get an iPod and buy an FM transmitter?
