What used to make me wonder is those who drive with lights on when vision is still fine. Then I bought a car that you can set to automatically turn on the lights, and realised they are set to come on embarrassingly soon ! Worse, go under a bridge and end up flashing the car in front !
Er yes, I was going to say energy isn't free. You are bound to be paying to generate the light. Not much, granted, but something.

OG, what would you guess over 12 months?
I was once driven at night by a chauffeur in India, through the outskirts of Baroda where the street lights were spasmodic - 1 about every 300 yards and as we passed under each light he switched off the headlamps. When I mentioned it to the rather grand elderly Austrian lady, whose car it was, she said "I've been telling him it was of little use for 30 years, but he takes no notice."
