I hope someone can help me, i have lost one of my fiat keys and need to get a replacement and get the car recoded, so that the old key doesn't work. Please can someone let me know how much this is likely to cost. Thanks in advance

Personally I wouldn't bother getting the car recoded.

If it was going to be nicked it would have gone by now. Chances are whoever has the key doesn't know which car it is for.

An awful lot more than you expect! I've heard people paying way over £200 just for the key.

Our local locksmith did a coded key for £50, but he assured me it would have been £80+ almost anywhere else. To provide this service at all, they need to invest in a really serious lump of kit.

Check your insurance doesn't cover it.
