Has 50.000 on the clock, for £850.00, has anyone had this car, or knows about them.

Make sure the timing belt is good. I think they need changing around 65k. Also prone to blowing cylinder head gaskets. Look for milky oil under the filler cap.

I think the engines were Honda and the blown head gaskets that Zac refers to are caused by overheating problems, mainly due to the coolant level being allowed to run too low and resulting in distortion of the cylinder head. I believe the margin for error is critical. Otherwise, from what I have seen, they seem to be very well built.
Just recently I have seen an awful lot of Rovers broken down.

I think they have all reached 'that' age.

thanks all, think ill look for something else.
Be careful buying a rover they are notorious for blowing the head gasket at around 75000!!!

I bought one several years ago and go less than 6 months driving out of it!
