Does anyone else do a Focus / Astra sized car with a heated windscreen, apart from Ford?

I would really love to have a heated screen, but am not a Ford fan.

Seem to do Htd/Scrns for most cars

The wife has a Nissan Note cdi .. it's amazing to see how quickly the screen clears when you get into the car and its all misted up. It's all gone in a few seconds after switching the heater on for the front screen. Actually you asking this question has just reminded me of how good it actually is, we tend to take things for granted when you get used to them !
My guess is the Note is propably as big as a focus when you consider the rear seat configuration. It slides on runners and makes the rear of the car very easy to adapt for various loads. The extra headroom makes the interiort feel much bigger than you would think.
alavahalf..are you certain that your Note has an electric element heated screen and not just a good blower.Apart from retro fitted element screens..as in Baldrics link.. generally the only cars with them are Fords or cars that were part of the Ford motor group at one time.Ford took out the patent on the heated screen and I thought they still held it....but I may be wrong.
My Juke has a similar system to the Note, no element in the windscreen the air con clears the screen ( pretty quick to ).
I can't help you Hopkirk, but I've a Focus and the system's great, even with the hardest frosts you just start up click on max and you can see the screen clearing in seconds.
I have a Ford and I love the heated windscreen. When I am driving in certain conditions though (sunlight shining from a certain direction) I can see the electonic element in the windscreen and it`s a bit distracting.
tony...the wife picked up a new Juke today...what do you recon to them?
I'm quite happy with mine, BRIGHT SPARK. Boot isn't very big though.
Which Juke has she had ?.
I noticed that too sj,but I think Ford must have done somw work on it as it's no where near as noticable on my new Focus.
Ford hold the patent for heated windscreens and will not share the license. Told this by Ford and confirmed by several other manufacturers when we were looking for another car this year.

The new Vauxhall Corsa claims to have a heated screen, but it is too small and ugly for me.
I used to have a Mondeo with the heated screen, once I'd spotted the element I kept looking for it !.

Maybe I will have to get a Focus then.

Link no good to you then?
I found you could see the elements when driving in fog... Very disconcerting.

Thanks Baldric, but I am looking for cars that have them as standard fit.
My car is a Honda Jazz, heated windscreen front and rear. Unfortunately a tree blew over on to it on Sunday. I have a Corsa courtesy car now and there is a heated rear windscreen, not had it long enough to suss out if the front windscreen is heated.
Blimey, bad luck that Meg. How much damage is there ?.
Tony, lets just say it was not a write off! It was parked on my drive and my laburnum tree decided it had had enough. We have a large silver birch at the front as well...that is being felled on Monday, bit worried about the house insurance, trees within 5 meters of the property!
Don't blame you for having the Silver birch removed, Meg. I had forgotten about the 5 meter insurance thing.
Hope you get your Jazz back as good as new.
