oil ford mondoe 52 plate

i was trying to change the oil and the oil filter cover that should be hand tight and it is slightly over that! i dont want to use grips and crack the case and i also dont to pay ford for a well over priced tool to remove it! any help would be great thanks in advance

Andy you can get little belts to go round the oil filter and undo it with a ratchet.

surely you are changing the oil filter too? doesnt matter if grips are used because you are replacing it. When refitting just tighten it as much as u can by hand. Unless your hand is very very weak this will be more than enough to secure it.

there is a protective cover around the filter and when you fit the new filter you have to place the protective cover
