can i see a copy of a family will that they do not want to show IE can we get a copy

Prior to the testator's death, nobody else has the right to see his/her will.

Immediately after the death of the testator, the people seeking probate (who are usually the executors) are not obliged to divulge the contents of the will to others.

Once the will has been 'proved', and probate obtained, it becomes a public document and anyone can obtain a copy. See here for details:
