Today my car (out of warranty) decided that it was going to tell me the drivers door was open all the time, even when it is firmly closed. This means the light is always on and the alarm cannot be set, I cannot see the button or switch that informs the computer the door is open, does anyone know where it is located?

well it has to be somewhere in the region of the locking mechanism, its most probably the sensor pad thats worn and its not giving the ok to the computer, that its shut.
Majority of cars have it inbult in the catch on the door, its a pain to remove and investigate . X types have door catch problems regularly.

Nope its not there, the door catch was replaced about a year ago when it got that problem of not working at all. Its an intermittant fault, works fine some days and then not teh next or even half way through a journey

As the fault has now dissapeared for two days then I reckon it could be the sensor pad as suggested, if only I could locate it.....
