Power-steering

Hi, im looking to buy my first car (Fiat punto, M reg) and it doesnt have power-steering! Can you get power-steering installed? if so, how much am i looking at?? Thanks

look for a Punto with PAS as standard. I've converted several Golfs in the past using 2nd hand parts and its around the �400 mark

Thanks rdv, i would but iv already put down a deposit on the punto! Can garages or mechanics install PAS?

dont know about the Fiat but its not really difficult on the Golf, just time consuming

The unassisted steering on these cars really isn't that heavy.

If you make sure the tyre pressures are okay and also get the wheel alignment done then the steering should be fine

(unless of course you have particular needs)

alexjohn,it really is not worth spending all that cash on it,you would never get it back.can you not get your deposit back.
