I live in Ireland. I drive an Opel Corsa 1999. It has 1.2 v engine-its an eco tec type. I have it six months. after it was serviced both engine and exhaust gave me trouble. engine light would come on after doing 60kph and car would judder. The air flow meter and centre box on the exhaust had to be replaced. The car is worth 3000 euros and already have spent 600 euros on repairs including servicing . Now i find exhaust is still fairly loud and there is annoying creaking from the rear suspension? is it the bushings? bearings? power steering can be stiff too. would exhaust need replacing entirely. Take to a garage which has doagnostic capabilities - they will be able plug it in and read the fault code which put the engine light on - generally if the centre box needs replaced the rear box will need done as well unless it has been done more recently as they usually go first - get the exhaust checked out - as for the creak - not a bearing noise - maybe just a squeaky bush - power steering - have you checked ther fluid level in the reservoir ? if needs be top it up with the correct fluid. Also are they the original size tyres on the car? if a previuos owner has put on a wider set it will make the steering heavier and get the tyre pressures checked also.
