how do i look after my car i know its stupid question but people say to me look after it( i have just bought a micra) how do i look after the body work.. the cross member went and corrode really bad how do i stop it happening again...please help any ideas anyone

Do you live near the coast or in an area that is heavily salted in winter, if so moving is one solution. I have seen many normally corrosion free cars rotten as pears especially from Scotland

i live 10miles in from the coast but i know micras are problematic for corroding on the cross member at the front my car was 9rs ive now just bought another that is 8yrs old and cross member looks sound for now but i need to know how to prevent it from corroding in the futre
