It depends on what you want a car for really- they're not particularly my cup of tea, then nor is any modern car, but if you're not a badge snob and you just want something very reliable that you just get in, start, and drive off with no dramas, then a Proton will do it as well as any other modern car.

I know that people who have them rate them and they do well in the JDpower reliability survey, so there isn't much wrong with them, just don't expect one to be an exciting drive.

never had one myself but a mate of mine had one for years -but try as he would he could never get a speeding ticket - and the paint at the back always came off when someone pushed it.
