2001 Corsa indicators

The indicators are behaving strangely on my daughter's 2001 Corsa.

When she indicates left, all 3 indicators (front, rear and side) function at normal speed. When she indicates right, all 3 indicators function but at high speed.

As all bulbs are working, I am assuming that the problem is with the little indicator control box which I can hear clicking away above the foot well. However, I just can't see or feel where it is!

Bearing in mind that this is a left-hand drive car (which may or may not make a difference to the location of the indicator control unit), can someone advise me where it is?

I just want to get it out, jiggle with the connections and, if that doesn't work, fit a new one. I took the car to a local dealer but they said the car would have to go in and naturally, I want to avoid unnecessary expense for something which might be very simple to put right.

However, the bulbs haven't been changed and everything was fine till yesterday.

Thanks, Big Bri. I'll have a look when my daughter comes back with the car.

If the relay is in the fusebox, what is the thing which makes the clicking noise behind the dashboard?

Please excuse my ignorance of these things.

Do you mean the black plastic cover at top right with the two screws already loosened?

If you do, it's easier said than done because there are at least 2 other screws deep in the bowels in front of the bulkhead which will require a special long torq driver to get out. They don't make it easy, do they?
Yes yes yes. we got it .keep me up to speed steve thanks
Question Author
In fact the black plastic cover is all one with the part behind the blue metal panel and to the right of the windscreel washer reservoir.

There are two screws low down behind the metal panel and two more way back holding the plastic cover to the bulkhead. I could probably get these screws out but I can't see how I would ever get them back again!
difficult the joys of being a technician . let me know how you get on please steve
