CityRover chugging and bucking!

My CityRover 2005 36000 milage has started chugging, bucking and losing power, the check engine light has come on. When i start the engine it is ok for about 30 meters the starts badly chugging, bucking and losing power. When i restart the engine it agin ok for about 30 meters. please could you tell me whats going on?

sounds like it could be a fuel problem,maybe some dodgy petrol or crap in the fuel line somewhere,are you in the aa or rac.if so call them out,or take it to your local garage.

im with the rac, i thought i could only ring them to be towed somewhere will they find out what is wrong the car? tia
