when iput my headlights on my instruments clock speedo rev counter etc lights go very very dim i have checked fuses etc ratings all seem fine any comment will be appcreiated i have zetec 2001 diesel durotorq

I don't know Fords, but is there a little wheel somewhere on the dash to vary how bright the dashboard is?

Could well be your Alternator not producing enough charge. This can be caused by loose Alternator belt, or the alternator is getting old. Try leaving your car idling and switch on everything electrical and then main Headlights, you may get a warning light on the Dash display.

It could also be a tired battery.

Auto Electrician should be able to pinpoint the problem
