Citroen C3 Engine Management light and low revs
21 Answers
Went to go home on Saturday evening, and on starting my Citroen C3, the Engine Management light lit up on the dash and stayed on, and the car would only rev to a maximum of about 2000 rpm, even with the accelerator fully down. The breakdown guy said it has an Engine Management fault (think the fact the Engine Management light being on gave it away !) I got towed to the garage, but they can not look at it until Wednesday - any ideas, or has anyone else experienced similar probs ? Thanks !

Took it to the Citroen Garage yesterday for a diagnostic test. Rang today and was told the light had gone off after the diagnostic test and had road test without it coming on again but the problem could re-occur and could be the Air Inflow and something to do with a butterfly housing. Not mechanically minded so have no idea what this means. Could this be to do with the water leak around the washer nozzle that keeps being mentioned here?
My C3 went into limp mode last week, got it to my local garage they told me it was my throttle but would let me know when the auto electrician has had a look at it. The rang me the next day and it was definatly the throttle and it would cost £165 to replace. They replaced it but it still wouldent work, they said it needed linking to the ECU and called another electrician. They now say when the throttle went it blew the ECU and it needs to be repaired at a cost of £300. (can this happen) I seem to think i have brought a throttle (whatever this is) that i dont need when it was the ECU all along. I have a feeling the garage diagnosed the throttle not an auto electrician. Still waiting for the car to could back.
